“Things Aren’t Exactly Perfect”

by Alea Lovely

This collection was born during a time when everything I thought was solid began to fall apart. Each painting came out of that chaos — the breaking down of relationships, identity, and the life I had built — and the slow, often messy rediscovery that followed.

The work moves between turbulence and tenderness. Layers of color collide, twist, and reform, mirroring the way healing never happens in a straight line. It’s about honesty over polish, emotion over order — learning to see beauty in the imperfect process of becoming.
